Each year, when spring light returns to the studio, we ink our carved lino and wood blocks and begin the slow ritual of creating our annual Limited Spring Edition. This collection – just 30 sketchbooks – is printed by hand on Italian silks, fine linens, Nepalese lokta, and Awagami washi. Each surface takes the ink differently, giving rise to subtle variations in tone, texture, and depth. The blocks leave their own quiet evidence: the gentle emboss of pressure, the occasional whisper of misalignment that makes the print unmistakably human. Every cover is one-of-a-kind. Inside, we bind papers chosen for artists, writers, and makers who value both the tactility of a fine object and the joy of putting it to use. They are sketchbooks to live with – and to keep.
